Marketing AI workflows

Audience and market insight

AI can synthesize approved research, feedback, search, social, and CRM evidence into themes and questions. The CMO still needs to know the population, provenance, representation, and difference between observed behavior and generated interpretation.

Marketing AI workflows

Content supply-chain operations

AI can brief, draft, adapt, tag, route, and localize content within a governed workflow. The useful architecture connects source claims, approved language, asset rights, market rules, version history, and distribution status.

Media planning and activation

AI can support audience, budget, bid, and placement decisions inside advertising platforms. CMOs should ask which objective is optimized, what data enters the model, what controls remain available, and how incrementality will be evaluated.

Adobe's model picker needs output-by-output rights

Adobe's new Premiere Generative Media Tool lets editors choose among Firefly and partner models, while its release makes different commercial-safety and usage-right statements for different generated assets. A CMO should approve the exact model, input assets, output type, territory, channel, term, client and campaign only after rights, provenance, consent, contract, review, and disclosure are recorded for that output.

Adobe's page carried a September 8 publication date and a 12:53:56 UTC HTTP Last-Modified signal, both before the prior-run cutoff; no post-cutoff update is claimed.

Google's AI ad labels need a variant-to-placement receipt

Google's July 9 announcement says a new 'How this ad was made' section can disclose AI creation or editing in My Ad Center across Search, YouTube, and Discover. Google says ads made with its generative advertising tools receive a disclosure automatically, while advertisers get a control for ads created elsewhere. The CMO should require a receipt that links every final asset variant and derivative to its creation method, disclosure decision, platform rendering, placement, market, date, and accountable reviewer.

Google's AI travel claims need a booking-stage ledger

Google's September 2026 travel-marketing article says travelers may research for months, book closer to departure, and use AI-assisted Search for decision support; it also reports that three in four people in a Google-commissioned Ipsos sample of 13,189 online consumer-goods shoppers who had used AI Mode or AI Overviews said those features helped them decide faster and with more confidence. That cross-category helpfulness response is not a travel-booking outcome. The CMO should connect each measurable AI-search exposure to journey stage, destination and product, media cost, booking, margin, cancellation, and a defensible incrementality method before moving budget.

Jasper Product IQ needs a published-asset change ledger

Jasper's current Product IQ page says teams can structure product specifications, pricing, claims, and disclaimers once, apply that context during generation, and cascade later updates through content-creation workflows. It also says product context can travel across Jasper surfaces and outside tools through an MCP server. That describes a governed input layer; it does not prove that every live product page, marketplace listing, campaign, sales asset, or AI-search answer has been updated. The CMO should pair the product record with a published-asset change ledger that makes downstream review, replacement, and residual exposure visible.

A personalized-pricing pilot needs a customer-visible record

The FTC's September 3 announcement extended public comment on a proposed personalized-pricing enforcement policy statement to September 25, 2026. It describes personalized pricing as using personal data to set prices according to what a company believes an individual consumer will pay. The announcement is procedural and the underlying statement remains proposed. If an AI-assisted pricing pilot touches that pattern, the CMO should require a customer-visible decision record covering the data, price treatment, message, exclusions, escalation, and stop condition before launch.

Final Active Listening orders need a live-claim retirement check

The FTC’s August 27 final orders resolve the proposed settlements it announced in May over alleged misrepresentations about an “Active Listening” marketing service. The orders prohibit covered misrepresentations about service qualities or features, voice-data collection and consent, and geographic targeting. For a CMO, the final-order state supports an operational check that affected claims are withdrawn or corrected everywhere they remain live, with evidence of timing, ownership, and downstream receipt.
